Sun Valley Company reports:
- Lift service for hiking and biking is over for the season.
- Access to the top of Baldy via Bald Mountain Trail and Upper College will be closed due to construction until further notice. Sun Valley Company suggests hiking up I-80 to access the summit.
- Lower Bald Mountain Trail will be closed for construction through September.
- Saddle Up Trail and Lupine Trail remain closed for the season.
- Open Hiking & Multi-Use Trails: Roundhouse Connector, Broadway Trail, Cold Springs Trail, French Connection, Traverse Trail, Warm Springs Trail, and sections of Bald Mountain Trail.
- Open Biking Trails: River Run Trail, Mindbender Trail, Pale Rider Trail

Wildlife closures have been lifted on Cold Springs and Warm Springs trails.
All trails on Bald Mountain are non-motorized, and electric mountain bikes (e-bikes) are not allowed. Additionally, mountain service roads not designated as part of the trail system are closed to bike traffic.
Hiking: Hikers have numerous options on Baldy, with Trail #201 being the most direct and popular route. Beginning at the River Run Base Area, it follows the Big Wood River before climbing steadily through shady forest. The trail eventually opens up to grassy, sunlit slopes filled with wildflowers near the Frenchman’s lift area.
Many hikers take advantage of service road crossings for shorter loop options. Reaching the summit involves a strenuous climb of over 3,000 vertical feet, but it's a rewarding challenge for many outdoor enthusiasts.

Lift Access: During summer, the Sun Valley Resort operates the Roundhouse Gondola and Christmas Chairlift to the summit. This offers easy access for downhill mountain biking, dining at the Roundhouse Restaurant, and sightseeing and enjoying panoramic views.

The City of Ketchum is building the Warm Springs Connector, a new trail from the Warm Springs Preserve to River Run on the west side of the river. During construction, the Bald Mountain Trail from River Run to the Traverse Trail and the French Connection cat-track will remain closed until sometime this fall.
