Lookout Lodge Closure
Lookout Lodge will be closed this summer due to Lookout and Christmas Lift Construction Projects. There will be NO RESTROOMS or POTABLE WATER inside the Lodge but there will be portable restroom facilities available. Full facilities will be available at the Roundhouse restaurant.
Bald Mountain Trail Impacts
The City of Ketchum is building a new connector trail from Bald Mountain Trail to Warm Springs. There will be intermittent impacts to the first section of Bald Mountain Trail this summer. Please monitor check https://www.sunvalley.com/the-mountain/bald-mountain-terrain-updates/ for updates.
Dollar Mountain Access Update: Sepp's Road is currently closed from the top of Dollar Mountain to the top of Sepp's Bowl.
All trails on Bald Mountain are non-motorized, and electric mountain bikes (e-bikes) are not allowed. Additionally, mountain service roads not designated as part of the trail system are closed to bike traffic.
Hiking: Hikers have numerous options on Baldy, with Trail #201 being the most direct and popular route. Beginning at the River Run Base Area, it follows the Big Wood River before climbing steadily through shady forest. The trail eventually opens up to grassy, sunlit slopes filled with wildflowers near the Frenchman’s lift area.
Many hikers take advantage of service road crossings for shorter loop options. Reaching the summit involves a strenuous climb of over 3,000 vertical feet, but it's a rewarding challenge for many outdoor enthusiasts.

Lift Access: During summer, the Sun Valley Resort operates the Roundhouse Gondola and Christmas Chairlift to the summit. This offers easy access for downhill mountain biking, dining at the Roundhouse Restaurant, and sightseeing and enjoying panoramic views.
